Weaving Nature Back Into Life

Kintsugi is more than an organisation; it is a philosophy of restoration.

Just like the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, where nothing is hidden and everything becomes part of the story, we approach degraded land in the same way.

We work at the intersection of ecological design and social regeneration. To us, scars on the landscape are not failures, but starting points, places where resilience can be rebuilt, biodiversity can return, and abundance can slowly take shape again.

“Permaculture is a design science which works towards creating resilient working circular systems starting with observing and mimicking nature.”

Weaving Nature Back Into Life

Kintsugi is more than a design studio; it is a philosophy of restoration. Just as the Japanese art of Kintsugi repairs broken pottery with gold, making the breaks part of the history rather than something to disguise, we approach land degradation.

Our collective of permaculture practitioners works at the intersection of ecological design and social regeneration. We see scars on the landscape not as failures, but as opportunities to build resilience, biodiversity, and abundance.

“Permaculture is a design science which works towards creating resilient working circular systems starting with observing and mimicking nature.”

What Drives Us

Our Manifesto

Our Vision

This is a place we are trying to remember - not build. A place where we slow down enough to notice the soil beneath our feet and the people beside us.
Where love is allowed to be imperfect, learning happens through care, and responsibility is held gently. Where land is not owned, but nurtured.
Where forests grow, and so do people. This is not about perfection or saving the world.
It’s about showing up - again and again - for the land, for each other, and for all life we share it with.

Our Mission

This is the vision we carry and hope to grow into. Right now, we work through aligned projects and communities, letting regeneration live where it is needed most.
Our intention is simple - to remember our connection with the Earth and learn how to give back, even in small ways.
This is not about saving the planet.

It’s about learning how to live here again, with care.

Meet the Founder

Harshita Srivastava
Permaculture Designer & Ecological Consultant

Harshita is working across India to restore degraded land and strengthen community-led environmental systems.

Originally trained in fashion and textile design, her growing awareness of environmental and social impact inspired a career shift toward regenerative land practices. She went on to train in Auroville, Tamil Nadu a global hub for sustainable living under reforestation and permaculture pioneers Bernard Leclerq and Dipika Kundaji.

Today, Harshita designs and consults on projects ranging from small homesteads to large landscapes, blending ecological science with local knowledge to create systems that heal soil, conserve water, and support biodiversity.

WORKING ALONGSIDE

Individuals we work alongside, each bringing their own practice into the process

Sindhuja Janakiraman

Sindhuja Janakiraman is a landscape architect and urbanist exploring the intersection of ecology, resilience, and cities. She is the founder of TopoCity Collective, a practice that brings together research, spatial design, and planning. Her work focuses on participatory urbanism, nature-based solutions, and reimagining blue-green and public spaces to improve the livability and resilience of Indian cities.

Prathna TC

Prathna works at the intersection of water systems, ecology, and climate resilience, focusing on peri-urban and rural landscapes. She is a Lead with the Foundation for Resilience Actions in Hyderabad, where she engages in research and projects addressing environmental pollution and climate-related challenges. Her work spans drinking water systems, decentralized wastewater treatment and reuse, and the restoration of rivers and wetlands, with an emphasis on context-specic and long-term solutions.

Bridging Science & Practice

We are proud to announce our contribution to academic discourse on ecological regeneration. Our chapter explores the practical application of permaculture principles in restoring degraded landscapes, backed by rigorous data from our project sites across India.
